I thought a family member was pulling my leg when he mentioned the restaurant's name! Why would you call your restaurant "Totties"!?
I had a mushroom burger for R45, the bread roll was fresh, crisp and baked by the restaurant itself (beautiful!). The patty was a mixture of beef and pork (seldom anyone gives you the option to choose), the garnish was the works, and the mushroom sauce was tasty (but not the best that I have had so far).
This burger got my undivided attention, I would definitely take the 12km detour to Rheenendal again to have one, for those of you who don't know it is close to Knysna.

Overall score: 9 out of 10.
This burger gave me the idea to start the blog :-)

WHY the blog!?
I love hamburgers, normally when travelling we dine a lot and my favourite meal to order would default to a burger. It could be any type: normal, cheese, mushroom, pepper, etc. So I thought let me post my findings on where I have tasted good (or bad) burgers.
My evaluation would purely be based on the burger itself, it would exclude sundries (like chips, salads, or side orders).
I then would test the burger against the following criteria (closest to 10 would be the perfect burger):
1) The bun: fresh bread roll, or stale? Extra points if baked by the restaurant itself!
2) The patty: nice flavour, meaty and thick vs. paperthin rubber sole?
3) Types of garnish: pickles, fried onions, (eg. the works) vs. only lettuce (or nothing at all).
4) Sauce: home made special sauces vs. let's buy it in a bottle?
5) Overall value for money: affordable vs. need to rob a bank and not tip the waiter expensive?
My focus would exclude franchise take aways as these are normally the worst types of burgers you can eat.
If possible I would post GPS co-ordinates.
Please share your favoure burger experience with me, and if I ever visit your town I would try them out!
